  6.    O.K. So there is'nt much available for the A1200 at the moment,

  8.    I think this may have something to do with COMMODORE not releasing
  9.  
  10.    the new AGA chipset reference book. Because of this, not alot of
  11.  
  12.    Coders can get to grips with any new routines that can make use of
  13.  
  14.    the new AGA chipset.
  15.  
  16.    But having said this, what is out now is'nt that bad, and at least
  17.  
  18.    there are some good coders out there that want to make an effort 
  19.  
  20.    and try and get some good demos and utilities out in the P.D
  21.  
  22.    Libraries.
  23.  
  24.    So heres a few reviews of some of the programs that you can get 
  25.  
  26.    your hands on now.

  33.    PLANET GROOVE (Team Hoi)    A1200 DEMO     1 DISK

  37.    PLANET GROOVE from Team Hoi was the very first P.D DEMO to make 
  38.  
  39.    use of the new 256 colour AGA graphics mode.(even though it might 
  40.  
  41.    not look like it!)
  42.  
  43.    The Demo starts of with the Team Hoi logo on the screen with a
  44.  
  45.    256 colour graduated backdrop and some rather nice fireworks 
  46.  
  47.    effects.
  48.  
  49.    There is also some nice dot Sine-Scroll effects also on a 256 
  50.  
  51.    colour screen.

  53.    Right at the end of the demo there are two pictures, one of them 
  54.  
  55.    is a scene from the commercial game HOI which the Coders of this
  56.  
  57.    demo produced and the other one is of a fractal, Nothing unusual
  58.  
  59.    there, But what is nice is the fact that the two pictures are moved 
  60.  
  61.    around the screen and faded in and out of each other whilst the
  62.  
  63.    now customary scroll text scrolls accross the bottom.

  65.    All this makes up for a rather nice demo,but i'm afraid to say it
  66.  
  67.    still would'nt look out of place on an A500. But I suppose it's
  68.  
  69.    nice to see somebody making an effort!

  77.    WORKBENCH 3.0 SCREENS      (W/BENCH SCREENS!)       1 DISK

  81.    The good thing about Workbench 3 is the way you can add pictures
  82.  
  83.    into the background,but if you are not that good at drawing, the 
  84.  
  85.    results can be a bit on the tacky side!

  87.    This is where this disk stands out, it contains 13 IFF images
  88.  
  89.    for use as backdrops for the Workbench screen, Some of them are
  90.  
  91.    actual pictures, while some of them are the type of pictures you
  92.  
  93.    would expect to see behind the program listings on Television!

  95.    These pictures are rather nice and consist of such things as
  96.  
  97.    Waves, Marble effect and other such things.
  98.  
  99.    If your into customizing your Workbench,then this disk is for 
  100.  
  101.    you.

  103.    My personal favourite has the same logo as is on the front cover

  105.    of the A1200 Instruction book !

  115.    This is the second demo from Team Hoi and I have to say, It is
  116.  
  117.    much better than there first one! (Planet Groove)

  119.    It starts with a scroll text telling you about the A1200
  120.  
  121.    (see MINDWARP SCROLL on this disk to read what it says)

  124.    when you have read this, (on the demo disk, not on this disk!)
  125.  
  126.    you can access the demo by clicking on the "Taking over the 
  127.  
  128.    system" option on the menu bar.

  130.    Then after a short pause, the demo takes over, with 256 colour
  131.  
  132.    backdrops and the usual graphic equalizer type graphics,
  133.  
  134.    only this time they are used to knock what look like marbles
  135.  
  136.    around the screen! 
  137.   
  138.    The music is also very good, ranging from Dance to Ambient 
  139.  
  140.    styles of music.

  142.    All in All its quite a nice demo (Even though COMMODORE haven't
  143.  
  144.    yet released the reference books for the AGA graphics yet!)
